a rare luxman SQ38d on offer . it in excellent condition and have been converted to use EL84 in triode mod instead of the now hard to find original Lux 6RA8 valves.

it come complete with the original Luxman step up transformers for use with MC cartridge .

the amp have been gone thought by us any parts out of specs have been changed . the amp is run on original japanese voltage (110v) . step down transformer is a needed .

It is the Integrated Amplifier announced as the 2nd generation of SQ38 series.
There were two kinds of SQ38Ds which abbreviated the boost transformer to SQ38D in which the boost transformer for low-power-output cartridges (6321S type) was built.

6RA8 is adopted as an output tube. Although this thermionic tube is a triode of MT form equivalent to 2 A3 and gm is highly improved in respect of efficiency a little compared with 2 A3, the essential strength is inherited as it is.

The Lux OY type produced from the experience in transformer making-about thirty is used for an output transformer.
The Orient core (geotropism cold-rolling core) was used for this transformer, it added the crafts coil technology, and has realized the quality transformer.

12 AU of leaked types (it adopts with the point one amplifier of Great Britain LEAK) by 7 and 6267 are used for a driver circuitry, and the output tube is operated by the fixed-bias scheme.
NFB of 16dB is applied and the dumping factor has become 16.

The double voltage commutation by silicon diode is adopted as the power transformer of low flux density at the power-source part. It has a structure which added the choke coil to this.

In the preamplifier part, a direct-current ignition scheme is adopted as a whole page, and thorough expulsion of the hum is aimed at.
Moreover, the equalizer stage is NF type and the tone control stage also serves as NF type.

Even if the tone control has adopted the Lux type and it does not carry out a defeet (cancel release), a reconstruction is possible for a flat property.

The tapes monitor and the DIN connector are carried.
