It's great if you have 5k for a un-touched pair you never plan on plugging
in and using. But if your like me you want these for what they are, One of
the best sounding tube amps ever made.
These were completely restored.
Every single resistor tested and most replaced with 1% and 5% carbons (just
like the OEM ones but closer tolerance)
Most cap replaced with modern ones, No exotic ones here, to preserve
the original circuit.
The power supply caps (tin cans) are also new but fit and look exactly like
the OEM ones.
All sockets are original McIntosh ones that have been completely
cleaned.except there is an added RCA socket that bypass the volume pot , the
original RCA socket is still active so you can try both input and see which
you like better .
All tubes are new matched and balanced pairs (so both amps are the same)
They are using EH 6550 new production and are also matched.
The bias has been verified to be -45V as it should be. You can use any HQ
6550 / KT88 output tubes in these you want. all signal tubes are nice old
stock .
Last these are both the 1st series run of MC-60's so they are both the same
exact circuit lay out, another thing to look for when matching a pair.
Let me be clear there are no circuit mods what so ever on these amps , So in
short your getting a pair the sounds exactly what the did 50 Years ago!
They have been 100% burned in a and tested ,
There is some rust in one of the unit but not in the other.
